The Cheetah Diva 2017 Year In Review

Hello, my Lovelies! Yes, I know...I last blogged in April. It sucks to have had an injury that affected my writing so much that I couldn't do any writing. Well, except for tweeting, I didn't do much writing. Tweeting, if anything, was a stress reliever. Who would have thought that 140 words could break so much tension? Then the tweet character count went up to 280 words! Suddenly, I could tell a whole story! The politics of 2017 actually drove the Twitterverse. It's been, uh, horrific, but I won't make my blog about it. I just can't.  So, moving right along... The doctor told me that by year's end, I would be back to normal. It didn't really work that way. The muscles in my left thumb and hand were tight, and the hand would get very tired. My creative writing career ground to a halt. As much as I worked to exercise it, it was going to do whatever it was going to do and there was no point rushing it.  By December, I could withstand writing for l...

The Gift of Sanity: Your Cheetah Diva's Year in Review

Hello my Lovelies! It's that magical time of the year; you know...where I love saying, "I'll go into the new year with a renewed sense of optimism and hope that this year will be the best year ever!" You know what happens - the year ends up sucking rotted monkey butt. Well, this year was no different. I went into 2014 happy that things at the j.o.b. that pays the bills were going to get better. They didn't. I went into the year hoping to have my trilogy finally published. I didn't (one book short). I tried to rally the troops for the "We're Not Bitches" thingy. Well, you know... women. I went into the year hoping to be a little bit smaller. I really didn't accomplish that one. Hell, I didn't even come close! I did manage to accomplish a lot, though. While I didn't finish my trilogy this year, I did publish two books, I made it to the Miami Boat Show despite the "Two Inch Blizzard of the Deep and...

The Prodigal Diva Returns Home and Thoughts of Ferguson

Hello my lovelies! It's been ages since the Cheetah Diva has written a blog post. A lot has happened since the luncheon with my co-workers in June, and besides editing the second book, which was published September 1, 2014, the biggest things that happened to me was my journey to my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri in July. It has been awhile since I've been home for an extended visit, and I was only there for about four days, but they were four of the best days I've had in a really long time. I often brag about the cuisine, the sights, and sounds of my City on the River, and this trip was no exception. The past health issues, the stress, and the forward push to have a successful writing career all took back seats to my journey, as I did the over 550 mile drive from ATHell to St. Louis. I was initially apprehensive; I'm not sure why that is. No, I know exactly why - I expected drama. I have that kind of family. We argue, fight, barbecue, play spades, and not neces...

Retail Hell for the Plus Sized Diva

Hello my Lovelies! Yes, I'm living up the promise of posting more in my blog and will try to do so every Sunday evening...after The Amazing Race and Real Housewives of Atlanta. Don't act like I'm the only one... Anyhoo, here we go! Here’s the truth of the matter – I’m a fat chick.   Not a “Fluffy Diva,” not a “Thick N Baby,” or any other adorable names people use to make it sound all cute and cuddly.   I’m a fat chick.   Oooohhh…I’m supposed to crawl in a corner and cry my eyes out over a gallon of Chunky Monkey, a double whopper with cheese and a small diet Coke now, right?   WRONG!   To hell with what you think, I love me. Like I said in my last blog entry, if I could marry myself, I’d be on my honeymoon. Do I want to be overweight?   Hell naw!  Who really does?   I don’t know anyone who looks in the mirror and say, “yeah…jumbo size…that shit is HAWT!”   Any woman who looks you in the face and says that is eith...
